While training karate, we must constantly be working towards self-improvement. In fact, this is the main objective of karate. Doing this takes willpower, effort, perseverance, and dedication.
It is important to acknowledge and positively enforce such effort and consistency. Because of this, we have decided to start a Student of the Month award program.
Each month, one student currently training at West Van Karate Academy will be recognized for their efforts and personal growth.
This student of the month will have their picture taken to be put on the bulletin board in the dojo foyer. In addition, there will be a short biography written about this student highlighting their accomplishments, and why they have been awarded Student of the Month.
Student of the month will be awarded on the first Thursday after the month
Example: Student of the month for the month of May would be awarded on the first Thursday in the month of June. Their picture would also stay up for the entire month of June. This process would repeat as such for each month throughout the year.
