Dojo flooded

Dojo flooded

Hi everyone,

Some unfortunate news, our dojo flooded over the weekend.

As a temporary solution, the church is generously allowing us to hold our training sessions upstairs in the lounge area. Thankfully the lounge is rather large, so there will be more than enough room to run classes as usual without interruption to our schedule. When arriving to class, please head up the stairs immediately when entering the building and head straight through the large doors atop the stairs. We're hoping to be back to our regular training space for Wednesday, but it will depend on how cleaning and repairs go.

Students and parents, please remember to be very quiet when entering and leaving the dojo so we do not disturb the music lessons going on down the hall. Thank you for your cooperation with this. Parents of the 3:30-4:00 M/W program are to wait in their usual spot by the pews.

At it's worst, the flood was 4 inches deep all throughout the dojo, so we'll need some new mats and equipment, and also need to repair, clean, and disinfect the area before resuming training in the space.

If anyone is able/willing to lend a hand with cleanup, I'll be heading in tomorrow morning around 10:30am with Sensei Connor and a couple other senior students to quicken the cleaning process so we can get back to our regular training area. Thankfully, the church was able to contact a flood prevention crew over the weekend to mitigate more serious damage. Any help is appreciated!

If interested in lending a hand, please call or text me at 6043145374.

Thank you for your understanding and patience,

Sensei Matt
