PATCHES – This year we will be introducing a unique reward system in the dojo – Patches. These patches will represent character traits and values that every black belt should possess: Modesty, Effort, Attendance, and Leadership. Patches can be earned by demonstrating the associated character trait or value. For example, to earn the ‘Attendance’ patch, a student will rarely miss a class.
*All Patches are to be sewn on the left arm of the uniform jacket, facing outside.
TESTING – We will be having our belt/stripe testing held on Thursday September 25th, and Wednesday September 30th. Be sure to spend time at home practicing and preparing for the testing.
BC TEAM TRAINING – All athletes currently on the BC Squad are required to attend our first team training of the year on September 19th and 20th. Please speak to me in class for further information.
LEADERSHIP CAMP (Senior Class) – We will be having a weekend getaway to Mitchell’s Cabin in Kelowna. Horseback riding, plenty of karate, and good times will be had. Please RSVP to book your spot in the camp.
HALLOWEEN PARTY – We will be having a Halloween Party once again this year! Please stay posted for details and start thinking of a costume!
KARATE UNIFORM – Now that summer holidays are over, only full uniforms (pants, jacket, and belt) are to be worn to classes.
