This past weekend our dojo hosted the 2016 Golden League Kumite Cup.
The tournament was a huge success for everyone, and we are very proud of our students for their efforts!
For many, it was their very first kumite tournament. These tournaments can be intimidating for first timers and prevent many from stepping up to the challenge. Our students, however, showed tons of courage by stepping on to the mats and giving it their all – and the results were fantastic. Whether students won or loss their matches are not important. What IS important is that students: 1) pushed themselves outside of their comfort zone; 2) did their best; 3) learned something from the experience that will help them to improve; and 4) had a great time! I can say with confidence that each student accomplished all of these.
