Nationals 2022 has officially come to a close. This has been our first major competition since the pandemic and it was great to see our athletes have a chance to once again compete at this level.
Congratulations are in order for all of our athletes! Regardless of the outcome, everyone fought like a champion and grew from this experience.
Athletes: you showed courage and honour in the ring, and represented our dojo and province well as ambassadors of the sport. Karate is an individual sport, but it sure was amazing to see the support you all gave to one another. There were personalized cheering signs, “hype squads” following our crew around the venue, cheering from the bleachers, helping do warm ups and being there to calm nerves. It was a wonderful example of team spirit. Couldn’t be more proud of our dojo!
Shout out to Alexander and Nikita for making the trip to support the dojo!
Results are great, but the memories of this event are what you will really remember when it’s all said and done.
