Happy Spring!
Just a reminder, the dojo is closed today and will re-open tomorrow on Tuesday April 7th. Any students affected by the closure are encouraged to please reach out to arrange for a makeup session in another suitable program.
Please read below for some upcoming events and important announcements for the dojo's spring season.
1) Belt/Stripe testing (April 8th and 9th)
This week is testing week! Students will be testing on Wednesday April 8th, and Thursday April 9th. Students with three black stripes (4 black stripes for Lion Cubs program), will be testing for a new belt level.
2) Golden League Competitions (May 23rd)
We will be hosting two competitions on Saturday May 23rd: Skills Competition, and Kumite Cup. These events are a fantastic and fun way to test skills, set goals, and challenge ourselves while introducing competition in a fun and safe environment. Stay tuned for our registration email being sent out later this week!
3) WVKA Apparel and accessories
It's that time of year! We'll be sending order forms for WVKA merch and accessories later this week. Order forms are due by Friday April 17th!
4) Competition Team classes (April 8th - May 6th)
We'll be starting these training sessions up again this week - one final push before nationals! Wednesdays from 8-9pm.
5) Dojo closure Wednesday May 15th and May 16th
Our instructors will be away coaching our competition at the 2026 Canadian National Championships. Please wish us luck while we’re away! Any student affected by the dojo closure is encouraged to schedule a makeup session in another suitable program.
6) Hike/5km Parkrun
Come and join us and get some exercise in the beautiful spring weather! Stay tuned for an email with more information including date/time, etc.
