And just like that, West Van Karate Academy turns 10!

Wow, time flies. Looking back and reflecting on our journey since the official opening back in January 2014, I cannot believe how far we have come. What started out with an empty church basement, some tatami mats, and a dream, has has turned into a place to call home. From trainings, seminars, competitions, birthday parties, day-camps, sushi nights, and other special events, it has been an honour and privilege to create so many cherished memories with our students and families.

What I am most proud of over the past ten years (more than competitive success or number of black belts awarded), are the relationships created and the community we have developed. I consider the dojo to be an extension of my family, and I am grateful to our dojo families for their support over the years. We would not be where we are today without you!

Cheers to our ten-year anniversary, and cheers to the next ten! I am excited to see the growth of the dojo in the future, and look forward to experiencing it all with you.
